Being a freelancer is very challenging as a mother. Based on my experience, I have recognized a freelancing course in social media and is recommended by my sister. I have made a research on what is all about. My curiosity strikes, I attended free training and free webinars. But then, I was not contented because there are no hands-on. As I was checking on my Facebook, I saw this group which is so catchy. What I did was, I followed this group named Filipino Virtual Assistance. Here, it made me realize that it is a good thing to switch my career as a Virtual Assistant. Through this group, I found out that it is exciting to expand more your knowledge and skills. So I decided to enroll in a freelancing course at Filipino Virtual Assistance Academy, for one month. I had my training and it is really worth it! I guarantee you that you will not regret choosing Virtual Assistant as your niche.
PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED
At first, I was hesitant and it was really hard for me as a beginner or newbie. I have internet access but I don't own a laptop. All I have is my Cellphone. I can use it through browsing social media, can watch video lessons and can use it through zoom. But the bad thing, I cannot use it through my assignments and making of portfolios. A big thank you to my nephew because he let me borrow his laptop. But, it is only for a limited time, because he will do his modules and many assignments from school. So I adjusted my time when to do my portfolios and assigned tasks given.
WHAT SHOULD I DO
Before choosing freelancing as your career, I have learned to my FVA family that you must have the following Virtual Assistant Set-Up guide in order for you to work competitively:
Internet Access
Computer (desktop/laptop)
Workspace
Emails
Payment Accounts
Certification
Rate
As a mom, you should manage your time properly. Prioritize and organize your schedule. There is a time for household chores, time for your kids, time for taking a break, and time for helping your kid's modules or assignments. Don't waste your time waiting. Change your schedule.
You should always be inspired, and see to it that it is going smoothly. While learning, take one step at a time. Don't be in a hurry! When you master all the tools and the skills you have, go ahead. Market yourself.
This is my chosen niche for a reason that I know, I am safe at all times. You are from accidents and free from traffic. You will learn and earn even at home.
